Partners in Mission Nicaragua (PIMN) is a lay pastoral missionary project founded by Patrick Duffy Jr., a Charles De Foucauld LayMissionary living and working in Nicaragua, in partnership with supporters from Cincinnati Ohio. The PIMN Fund is administered by the National Catholic Community Fund, a philanthropic charity. Contributions to the Partners In Mission Nicaragua Fund are tax-deductible.
In the best of the Christian tradition, the PIMN Fund was created to be a lasting partnership between faith-filled Christians of the United States and the people of Nicaragua. We offer new hope, improve lives and deepen the faith of many Nicaraguan people by supporting:
The goal of these activities is to enable young Nicaraguans from poor areas to improve their lives and the living conditions of their people.
Over the years, many have asked (or wondered): why am I dedicating my time and life in one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere to teach faith formation, especially when there is a significant part of the population who does not even eat twice a day?
Jesus says, in Luke 12:49, “I have come to cast fire upon the earth” and how I wish it were already kindled! I am trying to do the same thing: help youth create a passion in life, a burning desire to do the impossible. It is not enough to teach young people just to be a good person and make a living. We have to inspire the youth here to transform Nicaragua into a more just and human society for future generations. Then there will be food.
