About Us

“Let us follow Jesus as our one and only model.”

— Charles DeFoucauld

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

— Matthew: 25:40

The Partners In Mission Nicaragua Fund was created in 2006 by Patrick Duffy, Jr. with the assistance of his former classmate, Tim Reis, and with friends and family members. Founded in memory of his father, Patrick Duffy Sr., the PMN Fund honor the lifetime of a man of honesty and integrity who taught his children to "keep the faith" and “to trust in the Providence of God.” The supporters of the Fund have the opportunity to become part of the Church’s mission to live out Gospel values and mutually participate in building up the body of Christ by serving the poor.

How We Work

The PMN Fund is a Donor Advised Fund of the National Catholic Community Foundation – the charitable giving vehicle for our Mission in Nicaragua. The NCCF is incorporated in the State of Maryland and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization. Donate here.

Our Organizational Structure

Partners In Mission Nicaragua is compoosed of two Mission partner groups and Patrick Duffy, Jr.  All funds destined for Nicaragua are supervised by the Cincinnati and Managua oversight groups. This simple organizational structure allows separate, but like-minded groups to oversee, participate in and collaborate with the pastoral and financial activities for the work of the Church in Nicaragua.

The Cincinnati and Managua groups, in essence, have the role of a board of directors, but without incurring all the costs, extra-time and extra paper work. By eliminating the excessive bureaucracy and red tape that often divides time, money and energy from doing the more important work with the Mission on the ground, we have created a professional, ethical, lay-run organization that empowers direct action and focus on Mission.

Transparency and Accountability

The two groups serve on a volunteer basis to provide transparency of operations and usage of funds. This includes providing financial statements to interested parties, assisting in communications between donors and providing advisory services related to fund collections and disbursements.
