What we do: Practice the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy
We plan to build homes for families and people who live in sub-human living conditions, one family at time. Presently, we are learning about alternative natural construction methods. We are aiming, with the help of experts to create a model home for Nicaragua using natural and alternative building materials, which can be learned and re-produced locally.
Currently, we have launched a "superadobe" earth building project for one family, which offers the most creative and cost efficient way to “shelter those without homes”. We hope to organize collective community groups for the building of alternative homes: using earth-bag construction as the primary building preference.
In our spare time we seek to to continue our work of forming small Catholic - Christian communities of faith and action. In essence, we want to put into practice a very traditional Catholic idea called personalism; an idea based the conviction that every human being is a brother and sister in Christ and is worthy to be treated as such, and therefore, has the right to a decent set of living conditions.
We are working for the positive change we seek to see in society by beginning with ourselves and helping families in need who we know personally.
